What parts make the weight savings so that this light is 12.2g vs the 15g for the Lumintop Tool AAA version? Interested in this over the Lumintop almost purely due to the weight difference and the fact this is L M H even though its only 0.1 oz difference. I have been looking for the lightest AAA light available.

dholcombeNotice the difference in length...
Massdrop version: 2.9 x 0.6 in Lumintop Tool: 3.2 x 0.6 in
That additional 0.3 in of length, and material, could easily account for the additional weight of the Tool. Then the you have the mechanics of a clicky button vs the electronic button of the Massdrop version. Makes sense to me.

glennacI hadn't looked at the dimensions to notice it was shorter. I was also assuming a titanium buttons weighs more than a plastic one. I wonder if they could save even a bit more weight by making the button out of aluminum as well instead of titanium or if the aluminum would need to be thicker. Titanium is much denser/heavier for the same volume of material. The Tool Ti is significantly heavier than the aluminum ones for that reason because they either didn't or weren't able to take advantage of the strength of titanium to make it thinner.
