The item’s description as well as the photo depictions of what was to be included in the box were overly misleading. I can’t vouch for the $50 and $100 tiers, but as for the $150 tier, we should have expected any of the following items: Duel Decks, Commander Decks, SOI Booster Box, Playmat, Dragon Shields Sleeves, etc.. To my knowledge, not one of the $150 tier individuals got any of the items I listed. The items that were sent out were of negligible value and interest. OGW was a poor choice of booster box considering SOI was just released and featured in the promo shots. The POP figure is practically worthless to the core MTG player and collector. I’m a huge fan of the KMC Hyper Mat sleeves, but advertising Dragon Shields is a classic bait and switch. The dice are marginally interesting, but once again, we all have amassed huge collections of dice and the included dice are geared towards the D&D crowd. The Ultra Pro binder is has limited usefulness until it falls apart in a couple of months. The deck box is adequate assuming you received a color you like, otherwise it’s going to end up in landfill. The Cardboard Crack elicits a solid, “Meh.”
Considering this was Massdrop’s first foray into the monthly subscription box, an opportunity was missed and may not be easily recoverable. This was Massdrop’s opportunity to entice a group of people that have a considerable amount of expendable income. I’m sure you have individuals here that have been scared off from ordering the next iteration of this drop. As I have stated above, I’ve yet to open my box and sort through the disappointment it contains. I may just sit on this until the next time Massdrop offers this and be reminded of how foolish I and hundreds of others were to have taken a leap of faith and again be underwhelmed by this poorly conceived drop.
To the people that have opened this, what is your opinion as to the disposition of my box? Should I choose options 1, 2 or 3?
