AndySuI can tell you that the switch used with the Tool series requires two clicks to change the brightness level because each is separated by a no-light setting. I can also say that the switch has tactile resistance; that you can feel the layer over the switch curve inward against the thumb like a hard balloon; and that the pressure needed reminds me of the action of a stiff piano key. Judging from the depth of the press, the button is no taller than my thumbnail.
I like the resistance. I'm less fond of the intensity-separating clicks, but I'm sure there's a practical reason for them.
VarholiaglimpVarholiaglimp Thank you for the friendly description. Now I know it's a limit switch. Bellow photos are my GhostFire flashlight with CREE R2 lumen. Use my thumb to control the tact-switch on full-half-flash-off loop, that could let me aim then light on, then select mode rapidly. It's still a little bit big and easy to error-touched on when putting in my pocket, so I have to clip it on shirts always. This drop seems be a good choice, although it couldn't be changed mode rapidly, at least reduce chance of error-touched.
