This flashlight is not compatible with rechargeable 10440 lithium batteries. I only learnt this on delivery as it not included in the description. I am very disappointed.

wonbulYou must be using a NiMH rechargeable, it says right in the product info pamphlet that you receive that it is not compatible 10440 AAA's.

J_JayI wonder why. 10440 li-ion lists at 3.7 v. AAA is 1.2v. I foolishly didn't read the pamphlet and have used the AAA rechargables that I had on hand. They've worked fine without a hitch through several cycles.

To be picky, a 10440 cell is not AAA. It has the same form factor, but the term AAA has always connotated a nominal 1.5v alkaline/lithium primary (nonrechargeable)/NiMH rechargeable cell. [I know NiMH has a nominal voltage of 1.2v, but the actual voltage under load is very close to the other types of AAA cells]
