I've had my brass Cree version for a year now without any issues. I use it nightly and it lives on my bedside table. It's been slowly developing a beautiful patina and I'm very happy with the purchase. I use it almost exclusively in low mode, which is perfect for navigating around a dark room without waking a significant other. The gently glowing ring behind the glass makes it easy to locate after you've turned it off and set it down (plus, it just looks cool).
After reading all of the issues people are having with this light, I wonder if there is a quality control issue, since it seems to be hit or miss - or maybe I just got lucky. I would still highly recommend the light, based on my own experience, especially with the warranty that is provided.
