Beautiful construction, solid - but worthless as a flashlight. If you want it to look and feel cool then this is your light, but if you want it to function then look elsewhere.
What makes it "worthless as a flashlight?" Is it not bright enough? Is it hard to turn on? Is it hard to hold? What? Which version did you get (the Cree version is much brighter than the other)? Without more information, your review doesn't help others make purchase decisions. You could have distilled it down to "no like" and it would have been just as useful.
I think I was pretty clear - I have a bit of a flashlight addiction - and as far as flashlights go - this one is beautifully worthless.
to be clear for other customers - I should have just said buy any flashlight BUT this one - your garden variety $5 flashlight at Walmart will be far superior to this flashlight. Hopefully that is clearer.
But why is it worthless, and which version did you buy? There are two different versions that incorporate different LEDs...one is brighter and the other is "more natural." Sorry if my comment seemed aggressive. It wasn't intended that way. I'm just wondering what makes the flashlight "worthless." Is it not bright enough? Does it not work well? What makes the $5 Walmart flashlight better? I'm just trying to understand what you don't like about it, and which version you bought. I understand that you feel that it's "worthless," but I'd like to know why.
Actually worthless is appropriate - for $30 I expect a flashlight to provide light as it implies and this flashlight provides so little light that I could not even see things on the floor of my truck passenger side from the drivers side. Apparently I have the none Cree model as I paid the lower price - but the Cree model could be 5 x brighter than this light and still it would be worthless. $30 is a steep price for a single battery light that doesn’t provide light. No like would be too soft of an answer - it has a nice feel and appearance to it - but it simply doesn’t work to provide light - hence worthless. Spend your money elsewhere -
There are 3 brightness modes and you press the button 5 times to get to the brightest. It is bright enough to blind you for a few seconds.
....and then the battery dies?
my battery hasn't died yet and the brightness hasn't dimmed noticeably yet and I've used it for about two hours
I'm guessing the quality control on these is not very consistent. It also might depend on the battery quality / brand on how long the battery lasts.
My reply was sarcastic, and related to the short battery life that many complained about. If I offended you, please forgive me. That was not my intent. I agree with you about the QC issue. I am glad that you got a good one.
I wan't trying to sound offended, but better safe than sorry right?
I have come to realize that my posts are always perfectly clear, erudite, and humorous....to me. I also have come to realize that my audience is quite different that I. Thanx for asking.
