Great little light, but had some intermittent failures while camping, so dropping to 4/5. Still would recommend!

istherenoendIn other words, it's a flashlight that you cannot rely on to be functional when you most need it. So it's basically useless. I still carry mine (because I like the appearance of the light), but I now I also have to carry a small Fenix LD01 AAA light as a backup for when the Massdrop light inevitably fails. The Fenix is probably over five or six years old, has accidentally been put through the washing machine multiple times and still works flawlessly. I would strongly advise anybody that is looking for a reliable light to stay far away from the Massdrop light. Dozens of reviews on this site (some of which appear to have "mysteriously" disappeared) have stated repeatedly how unreliable it is. Buyer beware.

Dr_GUntil yesterday, I would have only partially agreed with you, but I have again had intermittent failure to work after using for off and on looking for ants during an invasion, and spent total 10 minutes on out of 40 minutes of my hunt on medium setting. It appears to stop functioning after getting warm. My copper one has not shown this problem, but is a Nichia, and I've found I prefer the bluer Cree of my brass. I am tempted to purchase the aluminum but now am having second thoughts. Love the light, just wish I didn't need to have a backup when it's critical. I'll start using the copper daily, and if I see any failures like the brass, will update again. 5/5 for appearance, size, brightness, heft, patina, everything but... 1.5/5 for reliability (failure during camping was a huge issue for me)
