I got this product 3 months ago and have been using it ever since. The sound is quite nice. However, just recently, connectivity issues start to occur. None of my devices can recognize the SDAC. Does anyone face similar problems? May I ask what are some possible solutions? Is it a hardware problem?
WillJCYeah I faced a similar issue. Changing the USB cable does make it work but soon the problem comes back. I’m also wondering what’s wrong with the product
WillJCI have the same issue here. Tried several PCs, operating systems, cables, HUBs and it looks like the SDAC is defective. It's shown as available in audio devices, but completely mute on both the CTH's headphone out and the 3.5 jack of the SDAC. I'm a 100% sure it is a hardware failure and only affects the SDAC, CTH is working fine on the analogue input. It's a pity that you can't buy this internal card separately, so no matter if you've had a CTH+SDAC once it'll stay a "simple" CTH forever because of this. I've got mine second handed and it makes me sad that I have to find an external DAC for this great amp because of this.
kisvari.davidSince I can't buy a spare SDAC card to replace my defective one I sent it to a guy who can hopefully repair it. If he suceeds I'll let you know. The most likely cause of this issue is that the AK DAC chip is dead, or in better case the output opamp is defective. We'll see (hopefully).
kisvari.davidForgot to update: mine was successfully repaired by a local engineer, he replaced the AKM DAC and the voltage regulator circuit had issues too. Now it's working perfectly fine.
