Looking at the reviews, seems to have a few quality and use problems... Any recommendations for a similar looking chair? Not looking to flex on my roommates with an AKRacer unless I have to

Honestly I caved and got the AKRacing masters series drop in carbon black as it had the mosf consistent reviews at the time. Might have to remove the arms because it doesn't really fit under my desk though..

I just got one from office depot 4 years back. The only problem I have is that the foam for one arm rest cracked a bit due to pressure this May.

My rating: Do NOT buy. I've had my Flex chair for slightly over a year now, normal office use (I telecommute). While durability is mentioned as a point several times the tilt-lock mechanism for the chair back stopped working this morning (so the back reclines freely no matter which position the lever is in). After flipping the chair over and examining I found that the actual stamped metal "base" that the seat/back/arms attach to broke at a weak point. I'm still able to sit in it but with effectively no backrest (since it reclines as soon as there's any pressure on it). The part that contains the locking mechanism is now attached on just one side and bent away from the rest somewhat which I'm sure is why it no longer works. Because it has been (barely) over a year (I got it in April last year) Massdrop told me the warranty is expired and they will not do anything other than offer a $20 discount on another drop. Additionally, because of how the drops work they are unable to sell any replacement parts for these chairs so repair is not an option. I bought a different brand with a far better warranty to replace it, yes the $200 price is attractive but paying under $400 for a chair I'll still be using in 5 years is a far better long-term deal than paying $200 for a chair I'll have to replace a year down the road. How does this chair compare to the "cheaper" chairs from companies like Herman Miller, such as the Mira?

I expect you'd get much longer life out of the Herman Miller chairs. Check the reviews, I'm not the only one that had the recline mechanism break and all of them with pictures broke at the exact same spot.

Ah i see it. It might be worth it to check out the some of the cheaper or used Herman Miller chairs then.

Anyone have this chair and the Autonomous ErgoChair 2 and can compare? Got my eye on both but the Massdrop chair is a lot cheaper in price

I do not have the Ergo, just got this chair in the mail and immediately got on to write a 5/5 review. For $200 it is awesome. Very adjustable. Already in love

Are the caster wheel stems compatible with 7/16" diameter by 7/8" long replacements? These ones in particular: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CTIG4GE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I bought the Massdrop Flex Task Chair, and had the chair in two days, that's great. Tuesday night I assembled the chair solid construction, but when I went to attach the head rest I found is broken. So how do I go about getting a replacement piece. To clarify, it is not the headrest itself, but the arm that connects the headrest to the backrest. That is broken. So if anyone could help in getting it replaced .... thank you

I'm grabbing a second one of these (not a replacement for my first) for my partner, since this is easily the best $200 chair I've ever had. Is it a perfect task chair? No. Is it the best $200 chair either of us have ever sat on? Absolutely.

Seems like a great chair but without being able to try one out in person I'm not sure I can purchase one. I've had quite a few chairs that feel great at first but then become uncomfortable after an hour.
