Fantastic bargain planars for what they are, but 100% NOT multi-purpose headphones

These are bargain magnetic planar headphones and they are good at what cheap planars are good for, but they are power hungry. They are fast, slightly bright and reasonably spacious at this price-point, if you feed them enough power. I primarily use these for EDM, instrumental/soundtrack, and acoustic/jazz instrumental. They range from strange to awful with multimedia (gaming, movies) and many vocal types of music. For whatever reason I think these sound awful with home theater, hiphop, and heavy metal. Over the years I swapped setups around and primarily from a THX AAA 789 + Topping Pro DAC, or an XDuoo XD05 if remote. These are slightly large on my head and I wear an Arai Large helmet. The require a very large headphone case due to the huge headband design like the largest Geekria cases on Amazon.
