I was excited to get these as my first planars, and the description in the drop was what I was looking for. These were intended to be my primary headphones at work being semi-open and comfortable for hours.
The build is pretty good. They feel solid and nice. I like the pads, and, although a bit stiff, the leather suspension strap feels good, too. My one complaint is that the sliders for the ear cups is slightly too loose and don't hold their adjustment. The cable is fine, nothing special. However, the 1/4 to 3.5 adapter that they include is just a terrible idea. Too much weight on the 3.5 mm end and is bound to break or damage your amp.
It seems like people either love the sound signature or find it too thick and veiled. I am firmly in the second camp. Initially, I thought it sounded "meh" but thought it might get better after burn-in and stopped thinking about it for a while. I tend to use these for webinars and listening to podcasts while at work so sound signature isn't front and center in those situations. When I got around to listening to music with them again, the sound had only marginally improved, and I had to start modding them. The standard combination of modeling clay around the drivers, cotton in the ear cups, and tweaking the ports did wonders and I'm able to listen to these cans happily. I'm sure it's not as good as the Argon mod, but it's good enough and an easy intro to headphone modding.
