Swapped out the pads for a pair of Dekoni’s, took off the brown fo leather plastic headband and added a ZMF pilot pad. Superior comfort now. 50 hours in on these and they do sound better. The highs seem to be more present. Lower volume listing has improved.

NJbonelessThe black is stock. Schiit has some units in the black across their entire line of products. You may have to wait or check the site if it’s not an option when buliding/checking out. I do enjoy the unit. I got it with the balanced amp add on.

Sh.LpCool. Are those the protein leather pads? How different do they sound over the stock pads? I admit that I bought the dekoni protein pads but haven't yet tried them out because so far the hybrid pads it came with feel quite good. The only reason I'm considering swapping them now is because the protein leather pads will be less maintenance.

PastafarianLemurYeah they are protein pads. The sound didn’t seem to change at all. I like the feel of protein and leather pads. Cloth on my ears for a long time becomes irritating. The Zmf pilot pad is also protein. They are now my most comfortable headphones...I own 10 pair.

JoeIkeI have a set of the Brainwaves angled pads. To be honest I don’t like the angle of them. I find the angle of the ZMF and Dekoni’s mor e comfortable. I haven’t tried them on these, maybe I will give them a shot too. Let us know how you make out and if you dislike or like them.

JoeIkeLet us know how the angled brainwaves work out. I'm tempted to get the angled brown pads to match the comfort strap. And if possible I'd get the metallic gray headband sliders from an MKIII to get an aesthetic similar to this: http://brain-images.cdn.dixons.com/4/1/10126614/u_10126614.jpg

PastafarianLemurThe brainwaves pads were a tight fit but so far so good. They feel better too. Only five hours of burn in so far.
