not at all similar IMHO
it has more boomy/bloomy bass which I love , also the TH900 has sharp splashy treble which this does not
I much prefer the TR-X00 Ebony

The first question is : when is going to be available again? Second question is: what's the problem with this models that don't drop anymore?

The problem: The pins which holds the headband and the cup together. Tend to break after a year or two.
