Awesome sound, cable is lacking
I've been hunting for a U-shaped headphone response for a bit. The closest I had gotten to it was the Klipsch HP-3, but the fit of them made me return them (way too loose on the head). I decided to take a shot on the TR-X00 Ebony, and boy I'm glad I did! I love the sound and they are exactly what I'm looking for! The build quality seems great (I baby everything, though, so I can't really be certain...), and I love the feel of the lacquered wood. I prefer a tighter clamping force on a headphone band, so I wish the headband on this was just a little tighter, but it's certainly ample enough for me to walk around with them without having to worry about them falling off my head. I second @Cholly suggestion to use "Why So Serious?" from The Dark Knight soundtrack as a test track for testing these out. What a cool ride! If you're looking for powerful bass (that's not overwhelming) along with just the right amount of brightness in the treble, I think you should definitely give these a shot. The cable, however, left me unimpressed. It is way too long, and holy microphonics is it unusable unless you don't move a muscle while using it. Plan on buying a new cable if you do buy these (I'm getting mine from skyaudiocables on eBay, based out of the UK...I'll update my review if I find this replacement wasn't successful). Edit: I got my aftermarket cable from skyaudiocables. It is shorter and more lightweight, but it doesn't really fix the microphonics issue...
