Smooth
Superb bass, really good extension. The transition from the bass into the mids is very smooth. Mids are a bit recessed but still pretty clear. Treble is decent, doesn't feel dark personally. Driver is very fast. Sounds like a more refined TR-X00 Mahogany (which I also own). Build quality is still sketchy, although my ebony makes a very troubling "clink" when I tilt my head downwards. Cable is still janky, way too long and way too stiff (and not in a fun way). I didn't even use this headphone until my new cables from Periapt arrived. Hard to justify the $100 over the $420 Mahogany, but I got this for $100 off so it's worth it.

Ares78Would you personally say the Ebony gas less energy than the Mahogany? Does it sound more spacious? I hear the Ebony extends the best for bass

SmoothDistortionNo I don't think it has less energy than the Mahogany. The soundstage on both sound about the same. Yes the ebony extends better.

Ares78Thank you. What are the main differences you've noticed going from the Mahogany to the Ebony? Smoother treble presence, more bass extension, better vocals, etc? Appreciate the replies.

SmoothDistortionEbony extends a bit better and doesn’t have the dip near lower treble, but you won’t really notice outside of a sine sweep or very specific tracks.
