I have Mahogany and I love it! I was hoping to get Purple Heart drop, I wished I bought it back on Christmas. Anyway, is anyone here has all 3? I l would love to hear some feedback on how would u compare ebony to both mahogany and PH since these 2 might be similar compare to the ebony.
Nope, the PHs are way deeper with the V-shape compared to the MH and EB models. The EB is a refined, smoother (slightly more neutral) version of the MH. The purplehearts are for bassheads. The other two have more than enough bass for the rest of us.
I hate to say those Z reviews aren't really helpful.
After some research, there are few comparison between TH-X00 and E-MU Teak.
For 500 budget, which one do you suggest i should take?
It's a matter of frequency response preference mostly, which is totally subjective, unless detachable cables or looks matter more. Or if you have sensitivity (or hearing loss) you might want to compensate. That aside, I'd say that if you listen to a lot of EDM, hip-hop, dance, new wave or techno, industrial, or any synth heavy music etc. you will prefer the very refined V sound out of the TH-X00 EB. If you listen to a lot of rock, vocal, pop, classical, folk, jazz, or any string heavy music etc. you will probably prefer the flatter frequency response of the E-MU Teaks. I haven't received my Teaks yet so I can only speak from prior experience. But I like both styles of music so you can understand my conundrum.
My preference: vocal, pop, classical, folk, jazz & string
The answer obviously is E-MU teak, I would like to get the ebony one.
Thx a lot
I should say, from what I've read, the differences between the TH-X00 EB and E-MU Teak are pretty minimal. As in, you'll still enjoy the heck out of the TH-X Ebony if you find the Teaks to be the slightly preferable tuning and vice versa. Both still have a mid-scoop from the bio-cellulose driver and share the other components (minus the wood cups), it's just a matter of degrees.
