Hi,
I'm not familiar with the drop cycle of the TH-x00 and wondered if anyone has a clue if the ebony version will drop another time and if so, approximately when?

I've seen them drop once a month. But you can never be too sure, they might stop dropping at some point. The E-MU Teaks with detachable cables haven't dropped in ages.

What are the reasons for getting the ebonies compared to the EMU Teaks (same price) ?

Just grab it while you can. Day by day, this has gradually become my daily driver over hd600 or stax. The low it can produce, and the smooth it sounds. totally has its place in my collection

Haven't had the chance to try the EMU Teaks, but considering how rare they are and how tiny the differences there are between Teaks and Ebonies, I'd say grab the Ebonies now, you will not go wrong either way.
Teaks might be slightly superiour tho in terms of sound. Design is subjective and build quality is the same.

Design is not the same, as the EMU Teaks now have removable cables - a massive selling point.

I meant the color scheme and wood cups by "design"... Removable cables obviously go into the build of the headphones but yeah, cables are a big selling point.
