Yeah. Worst case scenario... if our cables were to go bad and we needed a new one quickly, at least we know we can use the Fostex stock TH610 or TH900mK2 cables. But now that Massdrop has sold hundreds of these, someone will come up with one soon. I was watching a youtube video from Z Reviews where he shows how to make your own cable, so I might take a chance and try that myself.
Those are actually for Sennheiser headphones. They kinda work, but many people have said that they need those polarity pins reversed. It is also not a perfect fit. If you go to their official website, you will see they only mention they are for the
Sennheiser HD650 HD600 HD580
Yeah, I should have been clearer with my uncertainty than 'they hope you won't notice the pol swap' - a lot of these cables will just throw Fostex in as compatible since the physical connector model is the same (it doesn't fit correctly when flipped however so that the polarity is correct). The Amazon listing only had Fostex listed so I held out some hope. . . good catch on the official site!
As long as it's wired and tested for the Fostex and not Sennheiser then yes some connectors will fit fine but others not so much.
Damn that's very pricey. Have you ever come across a cheaper alternative? I really want a cable that ends in a normal 3.5mm connection so I can use them on the go with my music player.
