FostexFanFruityFrancisThat's happened to quite a few people. you just gotta snug up the screw man! pull the earpad off and you will see all the screws. The earpads kind of screw off so be careful dont just yank on it. you kinda have to twist the whole pad and they "unlock" there are a few videos of people doing pad changes that kinda show it better then i can explain it. they are tiny little screw so dont put a ton of pressure on them or you might crack the wood.
FostexFanFruityFrancisBasically, take off the pads, slowly unscrew the 4 silver screws that hold the black plastic and the wooden cup will come out, then just tighten the screw that holds the joint like on the picture below. Pretty simple, just be extra careful not to damage the wooden cups :)
AsymetrikIs the screw suppose to be this short? I'm trying to screw it in butt it won't stay in, maybe it broke off? And that's why I have e this problem?
FostexFanFruityFrancisI never pulled it out honestly so I don't know how short it's supposed to be. Just hold the top part of the joint with your finger and push it down against the screw and keep screwing in from the bottom until it starts to hold.
FostexFanFruityFrancisIn my case the screw snapped off inside the Fostex shaft (1420562475 is the part # for TH-900 and I think someone on another forum said that some modifications were necessary to fit tht TH-X00). The screw has a really small shaft diameter and seems like it isn't strong enough the be the only thing holding the earpiece to the head band but the way they designed it means that that diameter is almost as large as they can make it.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do to fix it. Might just use zipties to hack it for now.
fuddmy sister is pretty good making things with cloth so i tear everything down to just to ear cups but leaving the chrome pin where the swing arm and cup meet, and then making a cloth headband.
