2 reviews on Headfi, by trusted reviewers, and both mention the ear pads cramping your ears. Jude mentions this and his ears aren't that big. Project86 mentions that the rear of the pads push down on the helix part of his ears, albeit he does mention he has large ears. So, probably add in $50 to $100 more for pads if you have largish ears to get a comfortable fit. The real huge problem is that ear pads, especially uniquely shaped ones, really affect the sound of headphones; controlling distance, angle, and absorbtion/diffraction of the sound waves. So, in the end the originally designed sound signature will change depending on how much the new pads deviate from the original pads.
Honestly, a big letdown given all the time and testing and the headphones aren't even released yet.
