How about you wait until there are more reviews out there by consumers before you decide to buy a pair? Personally there seems to be a lot of mixed reviews and/or defective items judging by the comments. The only real person who has said anything good about this so far is Jude (who is known to be a sellout). Honestly these headphones look really good and I trust Fostex to make awesome products, but you're probably better off buying other closed cans out there on the market. I've always liked Fostex for their bass. There are plenty others that are more "flat" and cheap and as accurate for less money that are closed. If you're looking for like slammy bass and like that known Fostex house sound specifically get some th-900/600s and spend more. If it's just balanced cans you're looking for go open unless you have to use closed but know there are tons of 300 dollar range closed cans that compete very well with a lot, like pm-3, msr7, etc. Granted we may be suprised but I'd wait for more reviews on these.

I like to think the various folks posting their positive impressions including me are real as well. At least the last time I poked my arm, I felt real. :) Out of curiosity, unless you have heard the TH-X00 headphones, how do you know there are plenty of other headphones that are better? I am abosolutely not trying to start a war but it seems a strong statement to make. I am sure that there are other great headphones, but that doesn't make this one worse.
