As I'll probably be running these off my integrated soundcard at first, I'll have to use 3.5mm adapter, do you think using one like that comes with the headphones (I'll be using one I got with my Sennheisers though) that directly sticks to the soundcard and plug can hurt the headphones own jack because it's so heavy? That's something I really want to avoid, I assume there's no proper way to support it behind the computer? Thanks.

With time every plug is making problems thats just a nature of things. From my experience, the bulkier and heavier the connector is - the faster it happens. And for any attempts of portable use, about in a year or two your player/phone will get its "connection hole" loose for sure.

Not really worried about hurting the integrated soundcard, but the plug of the headphones as that's not easy to replace. I guess it should be fairly durable?
