chrispiiiiiRight now I'm a little disappointed. I knew the TH-X00 emphasized the bass, and mine certainly provides a nice thump to rock tracks, but it throws off the overall balance of the music in my opinion. Female vocals in particular are much less interesting on these compared to my HE400i and HD-650. But that's just an initial impression with only a few minutes of listening, I'm not going to judge them until they've had a proper burn-in.

SocrateaseSame sentiment. I had them burn in 8 days before listening. I, too, feel mids and highs are lacking compared to my other headphones. I recently got Shiit Modi with Vali tube amp to give to a friend for birthday present along with one of the headphones. He also did not like these. He preferred B&W P7, K553, T1, T5P, Momentums, and T90 Jubilee over these. He took Beyerdynamic T90 Jubilee at the end, and I am pretty sad to let that one go... but these sound veiled to me with vocals, and I don't get why it gets highly praised. They do look nice, and they are nicely displayed on my shelf with no use.
