I received mine last Thursday. After spending a few days with them for myself they sound like my HiFiMAN HE-400 but with more defined bass and require a third of the power. Plus the added benefit of less weight. A dynamic headphone that sounds like a Planar. They're prized and easily stack up to my Mad Dog Pro and certainly exceed the T50RP MK3. I purchased the latest T50RPs to see how the pads would fit, and never heard the previous version stock. I own numerous cans from various manufacturers. Oh only tried them on my Schitt stack thus far.

How much of a difference would you say the Schiit stack makes vs just plugging it straight into a computer's audio jack? I've been considering getting the stack for my Purplehearts, but want to make sure I'm not wasting my money on an imperceivable difference.

Huge. My best headphones I currently have are worth less than $100 and I can tell that my iPhone has a better DAC than my sound card. I also have a DAC/amp that came with my headphones (Focusrite Scarlett) that sounds better than my phone. I noticed it before I even really knew there were different quality DACs, and I'm sure my current DAC/amp isn't as good as a Schiit stack. I don't have a Schiit stack but I will be getting one for my Purplehearts when they come. I would never think of using my sound card for these headphones.
