I had the same problem and contacted massdrop. This is the explanation they sent me
" We do not receive additional information as to the reason why your payment method failed. Possible reasons for a decline can be incorrectly entered information, insufficient funds, processor network issues, over the spending limit, etc. We suggest contacting your bank or credit card company for more information regarding the payment failure."
You'll need to write to massdrop support and make an inquiry regarding your order in hopes of sorting it out.

One possible reason is that the amount exceeded the allowed amount your credit card company/back set to, which I believe is about 300 by default.

Had the same problem too. I had paid thru paypal. Perhaps the authorization had expired? Anyways I used paypal again and drew from the same cc as before and no problems the second time around *shrug

I also had to resubmit thru PayPal. I suspect you're correct, the Drop took too long and the payment authorization expired.
