I recently got this headset, and wow is it good. My only issue is when certain people talk on discord, I can hear a really high pitched ringing. I fiddled with a bunch of settings, computer audio and discord, and nothing seems to solve the issue. It is primarily if not all in my right ear only. Is there something wrong with my headset, or was that ringing always there I can just hear it cause the headset is THAT good? I haven't had any issues with any other application, though I have yet to test if I can hear the ringing on a different version of discord, say on my xbox instead of my pc. Only other issue I've had is occasional static, but I can't tell if it's from the headset or the show/game/etc.

On that note, there are quite a few comparable headphones that can often be found at comparable prices (under $150) that IMO are audibly better compared to the M50X.
- AKG K553 - AKG K545 (colored version of K553) - Beyer DT770 - Sennheiser HD 380 Pro
There are also a few closed headphones that are cheaper with IMO comparable sound. If we are talking about open headphones, it becomes an entirely different ballgame.
Point is, the M50x are NOT best value when it comes to sound and there are other options other than the ones I just listed off the top of my head. For me personally at least, they don't sound very good. They might come with a bigger accessory package, but if a buyer is looking at those things and compensating it for sound, they are doing it completely wrong IMO.
Sound signatures are subjective, but the K553 and HD380 Pro (at least IMO) are clearly a level above the M50X for every except for bass quantity. If you don't like the neutral tone, the DT770 and K545 offer more colored sound. The M50X are not bad headphones by any means, but they have been overhyped by a lot of people and not nearly as good as a lot of people believe them to be.
