okay ill be honest i picked the wrong keyboard i wanted a planck but accidently bought the z70 at first i was mad but then i said whatever and rolled with it. i now have the keyboard and am using it to type right now its not bad. BUT theres some sort of issue where it isnt grounding right and causing my audio to have a loud whine whenever my hands come close to it so i think im gonna be shelkving this keyboard its a shame because i really wanted to like this board but the whining noise will make me go deaf
There is something weird about this drop. I got the complete Planck (rev3) for less than 130 on its own drop. But in this drop a Case + PCB (pre-rev5) alone is 102? The Case and PCB(rev5/6) both cost 50 on OLKB website. That's 100 bucks.
Where is the group buy discount???
bsastorThis drop also includes a plate, which would not be included in the 100 bucks from OLKB. However, that would still be a less than 10% discount and probably no discount at all when you consider that the pre-rev6 PCBs included here were most likely significantly cheaper to produce because they didn't have the switch sockets that the PCBs on OLKB have. I believe OLKB and Massdrop also use different factories for the cases, but I don't really know how that affects quality. (I'm happy with my Massdrop Planck case for what it's worth)
gimpelMe too, i'm extremely happy with what i got a year ago. Now i can't go back to normal keebs.
If i were to get one now it will probably be the new rev6 PCB instead of the old ones in this drop.
The hot-swap sockets are definitely the deciding factor.
