R-value over 4 must be some kind of joke
Got this pad thinking it would be a nice budget option. Mine had no problems staying inflated, so that's good. My first thought when I got it out, blew it up and laid on it is that it's not a lot of padding. It's not like other inflatable pads that say they're 3 inches thick. It's kind of halfway between one of those and a closed-cell pad. But hey, it was cheaper and that was the whole point, so let's roll with it. Well I slept on it outside for the first time this past weekend, and it got down to around 40F. I was definitely cold from underneath, and I sleep pretty warm. Cold enough that I woke up convinced I must have got the un-insulated one by mistake. But after doing a little researching, it sounds like many others have reported the same thing. I regret trying to save money with this pad.

Azazello13I had the same issue. Used it a few times when temps were in the 20s and boy was my butt chilly!!!!! I'm moving on to a different pad. Definitely too good to be true!

Azazello13I first bought a regular one and later the large one and I share the same opinion about R rating. I also have the original Insulated Static V (~750g) and it is much more durable and can actually be used when temps are below freezing. Something is off with this UL Insulated pad!
