Been using this for discord mostly. Mic quality is exceptional IMO especially for the price. It's better than many gaming headsets I've used in the $100+ range, but you can see a video review to judge for yourself.
The mic cable is generously long, but unfortunately thin. It's still going strong for me after a year, but I imagine it won't last long with improper care (or a cat chewing the cable).
Anyway for $10 refurbished, I have no complaints!
I had a ModMic Uni before and compared to it this sounds way better. Thr ModMic Uni had an unreliable mute switch that just dampened the volume instead of actually cutting off the mic. The Minimic cuts off the mic completely though for me it has an unpleasant popping when muting and unmuting.
Packaging isn't really efficient as it is shipped in a huge box with much packing material. A revision with a smaller box would be appreciated.
The mounting mechanism isn't as good as the ModMic's. Also the included cable ties don't really work for me at all. I just use the clips that came with my ModMic.
The microphone "arm" is a little too flexible for my taste. It's hard keeping a consistent distance as the position changes after some active use or when taking off my headphones.
Though overall I prefer them over the ModMic Uni.
got this as a refurb for $10 and it sounds better than my laptop mic. no hum like others have mentioned but ymmv. only concern is that you need a dedicated splitter for this on a mac - i wasn't able to get it to work when plugging it directly into the headphone jack
