The sound produced isn't bad! It's actually pretty good, especially considering the price. The huge drawback to buying this over something like the ModMic5 is that the mounting system is garbage. First of all, the cable is prone to breaking if you look at it the wrong way, honestly the worst cable I have ever had the displeasure of using in my 27 years on this planet. Then comes the biggest drawback, the 3M dual lock fasteners; not good. Just not good at all. The adhesive is bad, I had two of them fall apart already, I've used the mic for about a week. The actual locking system seems to be random, depending on how they were cut, some of mine have 3 locks and one has 4, the one with 4 locks works better, but the adhesive fell off, so there you go.
I bought two mics, one for myself and one for my dad. He uses Dragon Dictate and the software just refused to work properly with the Minimic, as if the gain was negative 1 million. Overall I'm not happy at all with this purchase, but then again, it was $25 per microphone so I didn't expect much. What this purchase did do however, was make me pull the trigger on getting a ModMic, so thanks for that!
