9May2018: Update: After using this for 1-2 weeks - Here are my conclusions... Only Buy This IF: a) You are able to live with the Inconvenience/Hassle of having to remove the Mic at the end of every Gaming session to switch into Music Listening session. (or assuming you store away your headphones and detach cabling at the end of the day) b) If you do not mind the Inconvenience/Hassle of constantly readjusting the flex metal holding the Mic in place. (You leave the Velcro alone, do not move that joint, move the flex metal instead.) c) If you do not need the magnet fold ability of the ModMic.
So if these inconveniences above are worth an extra $30-40 bucks, then just go ahead and purchase the ModMic. Otherwise rest easy knowing you have saved some cash in the pockets for other upgrades.

So I just received this today in Singapore. Thank you Massdrop! Here is my initial feedback: 1) shipment box used is way too big (see pic) Massdrop you could have saved people shipment $$ if used a smaller packaging. 2) pretty decent bundle of accessories supplied. 3) metal bend build quality: decent but not top grade, as the metal bending bit along the mic seems inconvenicingly fragile, when you bend along it it gives off a gritty feel and need some correction to get to the angle you want. Think you need to adjust the mic weight to cable ratio find the best balance. Again not ideal but for this price... just a little inconvenience is ok. 4) Cable quality: not the best, cheap & flimsy feel but it works. 5) Mute/sound switch: every brush & touch to it produces some noise/static or even a pop sound when you toggle the switch, especially irritating when it brushes against your shirt. (Or maybe it's the mic sensitivity itself hmmm...) I recommend not touching it too much or at all if you can. Or switch it out for a better 3rd party one. 6) Mic quality: quite good I would say!! High sensitivity, crystal clear and crisp!! This is the best value of the buy IMO. 7) 3M adhesive: works great sticking it on flat surfaces. 8) 3M velcro: works great sticking the mic at just one angle. Not good for adjusting on the fly. Update: Velcro seems to be the stiff kind, not the usual bendable type i am used to. 9) Rubber cable management tie: sugar coats the deal. Nice to have and just works great.
At this price - it just works for me(for now) not sure on durability and wear/tear.
Hope this helps you guys make a more informed decision.
