Standard gain (2.5x low, 6.5x high) or medium gain (1.0x low, 3.3x high)

maciej.zadoroznyI went with the 1.0x and 3.3x option. I don't listen to music at really high volumes and with a dac that puts out 2.0vrms its the best option for me. Which option you need is really up to your preference on volume. The 1.0x will have the lowest hiss and noise so its also better for in ear buds. The 2.5x and 6.5x will be the loudest, but will also have more noise comparatively. I hope this helps you!

That's why you hear no hiss. your headphones are almost the polar opposite of sensitive iems

I don't have that much experience with iems. I do have the massdrop/nuforce edc3 though. They are pretty good, but only with the foam tips. Kinda similar to the 6xx, but with a bit less low bass, and a little less detailed up top. Great for mobile applications and provide good ambient isolation.
