magni 2 uber has pre-outs if you have desktop monitors.. that allows you to control the monitors volume with the volume knob on the magni. This wouldn't allow that.

This might be a good answer for both you, and Nick123456 down there; The Schiit is a VERY nice amp. I have one stacked with the Modi 2. Utter class, all around, at an excellent price point. They look nice, sound nice, do the job effortlessly. You would spend $99 per each, and end up with a combo that, I think is superb as a desktop setup. The Modi has the additional benefit of being able to DAC EVERYTHING. Right now I am using it to DAC a DIY tube amp powering my Celestion speakers, simultaneously as it can DAC a Woo WA6 headphone tube amp, (via splitters, with NO discernable loss in quality), which means that it has PLENTY of output for your needs, and does it with excellent quality. I know, a bit of a digression from your question about the amps themselves, but what I am getting at is that, for a nice price, one gets equipment that has a healthy endorsement from many many audiophiles,(middle or not ...), and you can choose to wait on getting the Modi until a bit later, should your budget require that- Schiit will always be there some time down the road, and the matching of equipments is never a bad idea.

It's helpful to add that the Uber is either $149, or $139,(B stock), which is an excellent value for the additional functionality.

Excellent value if you need preouts is Monoprice Desktop Amplifier which is already selling almost for two times more of it's real price. And speaking of external DACs I can bet money that you won't see difference in blind test between something like Modi 2 and a well implemented Realtek audio codec.

huh. you sound like there's an axe to grind somewhere in your experience.... Most of your remarks sound like you don't like the audiophile community much.
you might just be wrong about that blind testing stuff, btw.... but it's nothing prove-able over the internet, so I guess you can keep piddling on people's honest efforts to make decent purchase decisions with the well-intended help of other folks input, all you want.
p.s. I consider myself a Moderate, jftr.........
