Guys, thanks in advance for helping. Any help is appreciated
I have just received my HD6XX yesterday and just plug it into my Edifier C3 amplifier(an desktop speaker + amplifier set).It can drive the HD6XX at fairly loud volume that is loud enough for my music consumption. But I found the HD6xx is lacking in bass in most of the songs (i mostly consume pop music). I know HD6xx is a more neutral headphone, but the bass is just too weak for my favour at this moment.
Is this because my HD6xx is underpowered by C3 amplifier? Will an O2 amp helps boosting bass and make HD6xx sound better???
I am considering an external amp but i am not sure how big an improvement will this make

BrianLaiI'm not sure how much bass you're expecting and or hearing, One of the more common things people complain about when something is suffering from underamplification tends to be either the sound being rather thin, or the bass being rather weak(After they have a more powerful amp to compare again, but is often sighted and rarely volume matched which makes the results more subjective than objective). I can't find specs easily on the C3 you mentioned, but most Speaker-amps tend to not have the greatest headphone amplifiers. You MIGHT see an improvement with a better amplifier.

ZilfallionThanks.
This is indeed helpful to know that lacking in bass is one of the symptom in under-amplification.
I will consider buying an external amp. At the sub $100 price range, is there any better option than the Massdrop O2?
I am new to the audiophile game so please forgive some of my non-sense.

BrianLaiIn terms of Amps at the 100-ish price range, the O2 and the Schiit Magni 3 are two of the top recommended amps.
