I think ideally this should be built closest to the original design as possible so same LED colour, no battery indicators or other things that may deviate from the original specs. Moving some connectors to different sides should be OK as I imagine they're mostly cosmetic/usability enhancements. That way its easier to compare with the original O2 amp.
