In order of priority:
1. rear power
2. rear input
3. black case and endplates
4. included power adapter
5. minimal, subtle printing on endplates, preferably symbols over text
6. dim LED, preferably white
7. lower gain settings for IEMs and headphones in the typical impedance range
8. change to O2+ODAC, or separate drop for the combo
the 2.5x low gain on this can and will power typical iems or headphones so i don't know how low you want to go, a 1x low gain?
Some IEMs and headphones have high sensitivity and low impedance, so 2.5x may be too much gain. With too much gain, the volume knob will have to be at its lowest settings, where there may be potential channel imbalance issues. It's also difficult to adjust the volume because the slightest nudge on the volume knob will drastically change volume levels.
the coolest thing about the o2 is that if you find the low gain is too much. just clip one of the resistor end and you a down to 1x. so i don't see the need for specific setting for 1x low gain (why would you need an amp when most of the source is powerful enough to power most of the low impedance headphones out there).
Most DACs are powerful enough, but that doesn't mean they have <1 Ohm output impedance. It does seem kind of silly though. The O2 is such a beefy amp.
