Hi everyone. I just got the O2s. There's nothing on the Amp that suggests if it's the standard or medium gain version. Is there a way to know that from the Amp itself?

ashutoshYou have to open up and check gain resistors. Check last page of this guide. The 4 resistors you are looking for are between Gain switch and Vol pot. https://jdslabs.com/media/support/downloads/do-it-yourself-guides/2019-02-07.18-51-27.custom_o2_-_soldering_guide.pdf

ashutoshThe Massdrop O2 amps whose rear panel says "Made in China" don't tell you the gain anywhere--not on the unit, not on the box, and not in the instuctions. Later units, whose rear panel says Made in Taiwan, say Medium Gain or Standard Gain on the rear panel. For this reason, I would buy only an O2 that was made in Taiwan. I did, for this very reason. There are no serial numbets. And there are too many lot numbers--version numbets?--to track. I know that O2s sold as 34345-2 and 34345-4 are Medium Gain.
