Apologies for being new to this whole scene, but is there a benefit to buying the desktop version? I'd only be using mine for a laptop and paired up the ODAC as well, but I want to eventually use it for my eventual future desktop. Can I just buy the desktop version and use a 3.5mm to RCA in order to hook it up to my laptop?
Also, I'm sure this next question was probably answered but I can't seem to find an answer, which AC adapter do I get for the desktop version on a laptop? 110V or 220V?
goodjobpjQuestions answered in order: 1) No, not unless you have a need for the rear power, RCA inputs and the 6.35mm output (keep in mind, only standard version of this O2 has a 3.5mm output). 2) From what I've read, yes you can just go laptop/DAC 3.5mm to O2 RCA with the desktop version. 3) If you live in the U.S. (or Canada), 110V adapter. The 220V is for the folks residing in most other countries.
