Just had mine arrive in Australia (desktop edition, along with an ODAC), and am a little disappointed.
While the drop stated the O2 will be shipped with your choice of "110V or 220V AC Adapter", it didn't state what pins the supplied power adapter would come with. Nor was there an option to choose during the checkout process. The assumption was that if I chose the 220V option, and it was shipping to Australia, the adapters would come with pins for Australian electrical sockets. This was a false assumption.
The included power supply states its specifications as:
Class 2 Power Supply
Model: SP240-12
Input: 240VAC 60Hz
Output: 12VAC @220mA I'll admit that I'm not an electrical engineer, but the "240VAC 60Hz" seems to be a mismatch for Australian conditions of 220-240VAC @50Hz. The options now are:
1. Ask that Massdrop issue power supplies that are suitable for Australian conditions. I.e. 220V, 50Hz and with Australian pins. Unlikely this will happen, but I can be optimistic.
2. Purchase a travel adapter for the power supply, at additional cost, which adds unnecessary bulk.
3. Purchase a completely new power supply for local conditions which is suitable for use with the O2.
Presumably drop participants living in other countries that operate on ~220VAC (Hong Kong, UK, many European countries) are experiencing the same problem. Can a Massdrop rep please comment on the option of shipping suitable replacements that match our respective local conditions.
