I also got the 240V/60Hz adapter with the American style plug. Here (the Netherlands) we use 230V/50Hz. I tried to make it work with an adapter from my laptop(15-24V) but I could not get any sound. Only when I used the adapter provided with the o2 plus an EU plug to my surprise it worked. Another thing: the laptop adapter gave a nice voltage from 15 to 24 volts DC but the o2 adapter gave a very low confusing reading. If you're outside the US buying a whole new adapter probably wont help. So it works now but what I read on the internet plugging in a 60Hz appliance to a 50Hz grid or vice versa might not be a good idea.
