I am still on The fence with this. Anyone have a comparison with the m9xx?
yeah me too, not sure if its worth it to shell out 300 more bucks for the m9xx
I am getting mixed reviews and impressions from head-fi forums. some say its great and its a nice neutral sound but when upgrading that you didn't know how stale it was until they went to either a tube amp or m9xx. the only problem with that is that, that was with their listening experience not our own. Also that was with the a different company making the O2+ODAC RevB. SO I don't know. this may have a completely different quality to it depending how this one is made vs the others being made. I do know that the m9xx is made in the US . More than likely why its more expensive.
regardless though, we really will not know until we try it honestly. I wish there was some type of testing place around my area that I could go and test these out. If I drop the money on this and then don't like it, I'm kinda out of luck on returning. I could sell it, but I will lose money. So its a gamble
Well, the O2/ODAC is gonna be really neutral. That is what it was intended to be when it was created. Also, you're not going to notice a difference from company to company, as they are built of exact specs, generally.
For $200, you MIGHT be able to resell it for that much/a little bit more if you don't like it. But I think that it's a suitable combo for somebody not looking to drop huge amounts of money on an amp/DAC.
