Hello Everyone,
Sorry it took a while, we did hear you.
There have been 6,647 requests for another drop of the Massdrop O2+ODAC DAC/Amp Combo: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-o2-odac
We were not able to continue offering that version at the price point that made the product accessible, so we reached out to Grace Design for a new DAC that meets or exceeds all of the ODAC specifications (at a reasonable price).
Please meet the new Massdrop Objective 2 + Grace Design Standard DAC (SDAC) combo.
Designed to measure well, sound transparent, and be affordable.
Michael Grace does a great job of explaining some details about the SDAC here: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-grace-design-standard-dac/talk/1806625
In addition: Since we have several DAC & Amp products available right now, here’s an overview to help with your options…
DAC & Amp Family UPDATE 9/18/2017: https://www.massdrop.com/talk/2363/audiophile-custom-products-dac-amp-update-9-18-2017
Thank you so much for all of the requests and support!

What volume potentiometer is in the O2 + SDAC? It isn’t listed that I see and there isn’t an option in the order page that I see. Could you see about listing what potentiometer comes installed into the amp details? Thank You!

When I turn on the power, the O2+SDAC produces a disturbingly loud click sound in my headphone. I have to remember to turn it on before putting on the headphones… :(

Hopefully more come back in. Needed something for my HE-4XX's, ordered this, and was then told they didn't have any after payment.

How long is the shipping time? I'm in Canada and I just saw that mine is shipped out of China using ePacket... Isn't that the shittiest, non-tracking shipping option available?

Update: The order left China 2 days after placing order, arrived in Canada in another 4 days, then took two days to clear customs. The product was received in perfect condition, and works very well. Would recommend!

Hello there, I connected my just delivered 02+SDAC to my laptop via the usb port and connected my HD6XX via the headphone port on the front side, but I do not hear anything. When I put a AMP in between I hear the music faintly but with much noise. Is it broken or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance

Well I used the transformer that came with the package. That's the right one for my country. I contacted a friend for another transformer with the same output. Will c if that works. I am not sure, but when you hear some music between the noise, I would think the powersource isn't the problem. You don't need to use the red/white jacks on the back right? Thank you for your time.

The red/white rca jacks in the back aren't needed for how I think you're using it. I mentioned the power source stuff because I wanted to make sure you weren't doing something odd. Being it's a plug and play device for the most part, I'd assume it's defective. I'm just giving you ideas to try but ultimately I'm not going to be a lot of help. But there are things you can try to see where the problem is. The O2 amp/dac is two devices in one. Does the amp work if you feed it a signal through the rca's (red/white jacks in the back) with the usb unplugged? Does the dac work if you send the signal to another device through the rca's? It sounds like you tried this and the dac does not work in this scenario but figured I'd mention it because I wasn't sure entirely what you wrote ("put an Amp in between"). Side notes about the power source comment: If you used an EU transformer in America, the transformer would be supplying 7'ish Vrms instead of 12-15 Vrms. Voltage regulators inside the amp would try to regulate to +/-12V but since it's well below where it wants to be it chokes or severely limits the current flow. The severely limited current flow might sound like how you described it - lots of noise with faint amount of actual music. If you used a US transformer in EU it'd probably blow up all the filter caps instantly which would of course be very bad. I'm not sure how the amp would behave if that happened but I was fairly confident that wasn't what you described.

With the HE4xx, according to the specs it'll reach 121 dB SPL with an O2 which is crazy loud. Even a more modest estimate of 400mW into 33 ohms (to avoid clipping) still gets 119 dB SPL. For reference, I probably listen to stuff around 80 dB SPL as my loud setting. Note: I think I like things quieter than most so keep that in mind.

Hello Everyone! Just got this home and I was exited to use it. As I plug everything in like the manual says and plug my headphones in there is no sound. I have searched through google for this problem, but I can't find any issue in Windows, so I think it might be a problem with the SDAC itself. Do you need any software for it, or is it not compatible with 220V that we have in EU? Or could it be that the shipping destroyed something on the inside. Anyone that had this problem or know how to fix it? Any help appreciated!

It seems like some others had purchased ac/dc converters and that is what they did. I forgot that the light came on with dc but I suppose that makes sense. The ac/ac transformer should fix it if not then it might have something more serious. If you have a digital volt meter you could check the 12v side when you get the new one and make sure it’s working. They should test around 14v with no load so not plugged into the amp. I bet the new power supply will fix it. May you have good luck with it.

SOLVED! Actually my fault, as I live in EU i bought a 12V power adapter for EU outtakes. Apparently my power adapter that I bought was 12VDC. Which doens't work with this SDAC. So I got a US to EU plug and I can now use the standard cable that came with the package and it works. I'm no electrician so I didn't understand the problem at first. But some guy further down in the comments solved this and it works. Thanks to the people that tried to help!

I'm so glad I picked up a NuForce uDAC5 on a previous drop, as it was less expensive and has superior specifications.
