Hello Everyone,
Sorry it took a while, we did hear you.
There have been 6,647 requests for another drop of the Massdrop O2+ODAC DAC/Amp Combo: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-o2-odac
We were not able to continue offering that version at the price point that made the product accessible, so we reached out to Grace Design for a new DAC that meets or exceeds all of the ODAC specifications (at a reasonable price).
Please meet the new Massdrop Objective 2 + Grace Design Standard DAC (SDAC) combo.
Designed to measure well, sound transparent, and be affordable.
Michael Grace does a great job of explaining some details about the SDAC here: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-grace-design-standard-dac/talk/1806625
In addition: Since we have several DAC & Amp products available right now, here’s an overview to help with your options…
DAC & Amp Family UPDATE 9/18/2017: https://www.massdrop.com/talk/2363/audiophile-custom-products-dac-amp-update-9-18-2017
Thank you so much for all of the requests and support!

So I'm new to the headphones and DAC/audiophile world, but I'm wanting to get a pair of the hd 6xx's for gaming but I don't know what kind of DAC, AMP, or whatever to power my headphones and to use them to a higher potential. What would ya'll recommend I get to be able to do this at a reasonable budget?

New to the audiophile scene, and don't really know about the technicals of devices and peripherals. Is there a problem connecting active/powered speakers to this? I'm planning on using this on my computer with the HD6xx as my headphones, and plugging Edifier R1850DBs on the RCA ports in the back. Read somewhere how you can damage your speakers if they are already amplified and you plug them into another amp.

I want to get my first dac/amp, is this a good fit for me? Right now I have the PC 37x headphones, and my mother board doesn't drive them as loudly as I like, and my audio chip has compatibility issues with linux. I plan to upgrade to massdrop 6xx headphones in the future.

How long do items from Drop normally take to arrive? I've had a tracking number and email saying it shipped since June 29, but it has never changed it's status from "On it's way to USPS"

Different product segments? The D50 is just a DAC with variable pre-outs. This is a DAC and headphone amplifier. The front port of this is variable, but designed for driving headphones, while the rear RCA can be used as either an input (if the SDAC isn't powered) in which case, it can be fed a signal from another DAC, like the D50. Or an output (if the SDAC is plugged in), in which case it will be a fixed line-out voltage for sending to another amplifier. The D50 does have other to digital inputs though, while the SDAC is USB only. If you're plugging into powered monitors, the D50 might be the better option, but if you're using headphones, and don't care about optical or coaxial inputs, then the SDAC is the one for you. I don't know about the D50, but the SDAC is driverless operation on most OSes Of course, if you need DSD, or the higher sample rates that the D50 can do, then yeah. That's your man.

Standard gain is probably fine. The 6.5x gain is a little much for the O2.

I thought this was a good amp, but experience has just showed I was totally wrong. For no apparent reason, after a little more than a year of relatively low use it simply stopped working and delivers only mono sound. What a terrible disappointment!!!
