Hey a few noob questions, was looking at the Schiit stack for an amp DAC combo but this just popped up, the price seems great but is there anything the Schiit can do that these can't that I'm not aware of? I'm pretty new to all this. If I have the USB to my PC and headphones in the 1/4 only the DAC is working but if I plug in the AC to the wall now the DAC and amp now will be powering the headphones? One more, can it power 2.1 speakers for my PC via RCA to 3.5 then USB to my PC? If I use an RCA to 3.5mm for an Ipod it only uses the amp? And if I use a USB to 3.5mm for the Ipod it uses the DAC and amp?(if USB to 3.5mm is even possible?) And RCA to 3.5mm in my PC without the USB plugged in it also only uses the amp or both the amp/DAC? RCA only uses the amp and 1/4 plug can use both the amp and DAC together or one or the other?

E1111) No idea
2) No you cant power Speakers with it, the power is way to small, BUT you can send the analog signal to your Reciever.
3) Yes the Amp would take the singal from the RCA Input, the other way around shouldnt work in my opinion because the Ipods output is analog, but usb is digital so you would have to use an ADC and then the DAC (kind of stupid)
4) You would use the DAC of your Mainboard/Soundcard and just the AMP

At least thats how I understand it. Pls tell me if I am wrong, I jsut tried to help!

PromiSo I'm guessing the part where I'm confused is the 1/4" headphone port can't use the amp and DAC at the same time? Seeing how people are saying they aren't connected internally so if I want to use the DAC I have to use the RCA, and if I want to use the amp then I use the 1/4" jack?
So if I want to use the DAC(because my onboard PC sound card isn't good) and and the amp(because my headphones are 250 ohms) I'm out of luck and should look for something that does both?

E111Sure they work together! If you put in the USB and turn on the power you have 2 Outputs: 1)RCA out for passing to an Reciever 2) The AMP Output for Headphones

PromiAnd from what I understand the outputs are simultaneous - ie you cannot switch one off if you have 2 output devices attached... As much a question as a statement btw. It doesn't appear that there is anything that would allow the switching but I could be wrong.
