im curious, my experience with headphone amps/sac has been using the FiiO E10K for the past 8 months with shure se215’s. So far I’ve loved this set up, but I’m now looking at changing it up, how would this amp/day compare? I also have a PS Audio sprout, but really haven’t gone down the path of using the headphone amp it has.
mr_mwrThis unit may not allow you to lower the volume enough. The volume control has channel imbalance at the lowest volumes (nothing unusual there, actually - it is the digital or relay-based volume controls that have perfect channel balance at any volume), and you won't be able to turn up the volume too much without killing your ears and/or SE215. It's not designed with little earphones in mind. O2 + SDAC is much higher fidelity than the E10k, however. I'm not sure that SE215 would even allow you to appreciate the difference to begin with.

Valensilius_ZephyrusI fully realize this is a very late comment, but thank you for the reply. I have to disagree though, after using the O2 SDAC since it arrived in February this year I've been only using it with the SE215's. In either gain setting the volume can be lowered enough to be silent. I typically use it in the gain 1.0 setting and it's great. Significantly better sound out of my IEM's with this than the Fiio.
