EDIT: One died. I've barely used these and one has already died after 16months. Pretty chinese junk. I'm pretty happy overall with this light. I have the warm/yellowish led and I like the more classic incandescent look of the light. Max output is bright enough for anything I need. Its solidly built and very pretty to look at. This light would make a nice gift. Its not lightweight, so you might not want this for your ultralight camping adventure. I consider this more of a "nice thing" purchase than a most-optimal-practical-option kind of thing. I was attracted to the flexibility of being able to run a single battery for a more compact option, but was a little disappointed that the smaller configuration is still pretty big compared to other single battery lights out there. Still, if you don't anticipate needing a long runtime and want to take something smaller, it does the job well on a single cell. A 18650 option would have been nice, but I don't mind the smaller (R)CR123s. I can charge them in the same charger and they also work in my other 18650 lights. The main negative I've found so far is that this light can get pretty hot. Not like you could get injured from it hot, but after a few minutes on high it can start to get uncomfortably hot in you hand. The copper/brass metal case does a great job of dissipating heat, but unfortunately some of that goes into your hand. Its only an issue if you run on high for an extended time. Overall, I'm happy with it. I like the flexibility to run one or two cells. The main complaints I read were lack of 18650 compatibility and no moonlight mode. Neither of those were a deal breaker for me though. The price was reasonable IMO.

pallentxCan anyone confirm if there is a lockout mode so that it doesn't accidentally turn on in your pocket? Also for a more condensed beam light do you use that filter in the picture or do you remove the filter?

KiefofpoliceI'm not aware of any lockout mode, but I haven't had an issue with it coming on in my pocket. I'm not sure what you mean by 'filter'. There's a head unit with the led, a tail unit with the switch, and body sections you can put together to chose your size. There's only one beam pattern option.
