With the success of the Massdrop AAA and Vega flashlights, we knew our next flashlight had to be a knockout. But rather than go with a conventional step up in battery power, we wanted to offer something the EDC community could really make their own Read More

I picked the copper version of this light. Build quality is great. Light provides ample light for a pocket light. It does a get a bit warm on maximum output when used for an extended time. Battery life is decent. I love the weight and heft. Copper is discoloring nicely. This is actually my second one, I lost the first one and had to have another. The original is somewhere at the Johnson Space Center or surrounding area.
First off this thing is bright! I like how it has a memory so that it turns on to the last setting you had it at. It’s not overly large and the fact that you can break it down to a single battery makes it even more pocketable. We will see how it holds up over time after reading other reviews but for now it’s great.
It's well built physically but the insides are not up to par.
The feel of the flashlight it nice, but it is not EDC just based on weight and the thickness of the light.
Last week I went to shorten the light to carry it in my pocket. Reassembled and it won't turn on.
Tested both batteries and they are 100%.
Worse, DROP takes over a week to respond and I am still in the holding pattern waiting for support for this exceptionally overpriced paperweight.
The low rating is due to the lack of support and it's failure at less than one year.
Awesome - bright AF and no problem carrying it in my pocket
if anything it is a little overly bright even on the dim setting and shockingly bright on the bright setting while you look for the dim setting. Also, if you miss your pocket and try to clip it onto air, it just goes right ahead and drops on the ground. That one might have been my fault.
This light is as bright as you'd hope it would be. I chose copper, I am not sure I love it since every time I use it I can smell the copper on my hands, but it looks nice enough. Used it to find a missing cat at 2 am, so that was worth it for the price. I can't recommend losing cats at 2 am, I can recommend this light to look for stuff in the dark.
Everything is super good except one thing: is has mechanical protection from reverse polarity, i.e. its “+” contact is recessed. That disables use of flat top batteries. And it is terribly hard to find button top 16650 cells.
Nothing to complain about, but I tend to use AA lights these days.
10 years ago I would have absolutely loved this light. Back when all nice lights used 123a batteries and an all copper light would have been unheard of. Unfortunately today both battery and LED technology has come a long way and I can get everything I need from an AA light. Still, it’s a very nice light. The button on the back is especially notable. I’ll for sure keep it around for when I need more light or something that will last a long time.
