Soft, plush, and extraordinarily durable, the Peak is sure to outlast every hoodie in your closet—and get more wear than the rest of ‘em, too. It starts with sustainably sourced merino wool from Australia, a center of merino wool production since the early 1800s. Then the heavyweight material makes its way to the US, where it’s sewn into hoodies in a family-run factory in Allentown, Pennsylvania: a town whose roots in the garment industry date back to 1881. Breathable, temperature regulating, and resistant to wrinkles, odors, and stains, the Peak is an easy go-to for outdoor activities and everyday wear. And because of its brushed fleece body, it'll feel broken in the first time you put it on.
When you join a drop before it goes into production, you’ll get some exciting perks:
Made of 340gsm, 19.5-micron merino wool with a lovely, soft hand feel, the Peak reacts to changes in your body temperature to provide all-day comfort and just the right amount of warmth. Along with a pair of exterior hand pockets, there are two interior mesh pockets—one with a zippered closure for items you need to keep secure (like your keys), and one with an open top for items you need quick access to (like your phone). The three-panel drawstring hood allows for a truer fit with better protection from the wind and cold, while the chin guard and wind flap form an additional line of defense against the elements. Finally, YKK zippers are used throughout to ensure the hoodie can take a beating over the years.
The wool for the Peak comes from Merino State, backed by 35 years of experience in circular knitting merino. The company is dedicated to sustainability, ethical responsibility, and environmental awareness, and all its wool is sourced from certified non-mulesed or ceased-mulesed farms that comply with RSPCA and government animal welfare regulations. Its wool fabrics adhere to Woolmark and Merino Perform specifications, and its onsite water treatment facility decreased water usage by 40 percent. Of course, finding the best fabric is only the first step in making an amazing garment. Founded in 1984 by a husband and wife that had immigrated from Lebanon—and family owned and operated to this day—the factory has standards of quality and attention to detail that are second to none.
This hoodie fits true to size and is meant to be a bit on the slimmer side in order to maintain the wool’s performance features while working well in a variety of environments.
We recommend using a delicate wash or dry cleaning your hoodie to reduce shrinkage. Brushed fleece, as the name implies, has only been brushed to break apart the fabric loops. No additional steps were taken to reduce pilling.
