So far the curved jack and mini pins are holding up with my newer set. So, I am heeding other's advice and handling them w kid gloves. As for the sound, I am very happy. I have sold my pair of Campfire Comets, and have put the Kinera H3 and IDUN on hold. These have a full, rich bass and mid-bass that smoothly counter balances the open clear treble. Best sounding $ 300 earphones I've experienced. Listen to Blues, Rock, Jazz and classical. All respond well to the sound signature. Bass and mid bass are not in conflict, mids are present, a touch recessed, and the Treble is quick and clean. All in all these are a great buy at the price. Just be careful in handling the cord and connections. Taking off one star only for the wire weakness, not the sound.
Mind me asking how the MDP are better than CA Comets?
For my ears the comets keep falling out. I have found the more ergonomic tear shaped style a better, more secure fit. The comets do not seal as well for my ear canals. I did appreciate the sound of the comets, and they do better w/ HiRes files, just could not get a good fit so the seal never really allowed the bass to get in. The right side always fell out due to a sharply turned ear canal.
