Alright, I just received these a couple of days ago and only have about 40-hours of burn in time on them so perhaps this is premature but, wow... the detail on these things is pretty amazing. My music source is a RPi running Volumio with the new Mamboberry HD+ DAC HAT (standard IDT clock rather than the Crystek which was probably a mistake); this feeds to the Massdrop CTH.

I was pumping this through a pair of K7XX and that was sounding fairly brilliant in and of itself. However, the HD 6XX bring out and bring forward even more of the small details. I've been A/B-ing the two sets of cans for the past couple of days and this is especially evident for music with heavily layered production work and/or instrumentation. Specific tracks in my testing regimen with a noticeable improvement include: - F*cked Up - Son the Father - OutKast - SpottieOttieDopaliscious - Neutral Milk Hotel - Holland, 1945 - Nine Inch Nails - Into The Void
The detail is the main difference I've noticed thus far (bass kick and mids seems fairly comparable, treble is maybe a bit more sharp on the HD 6XX but not bad by any means; we'll see how these develop going forward).
So yeah, two days in and I'm incredibly happy with my purchase. I still like the K7XX but they'll be coming home with me where my headphone time is significantly less; the HD 6XX will stay with me at work.
