Probably the best headphones you can buy at $200
if you are looking for an enjoyable headphone. One that is pleasant and pleasing to listen to after a long day at work, just get a pair of these. I have had mine since the end of 2016. I was able to jump into the original drop of the HD6xx. I have bought several other headphones throughout this time and I always ended up with these. the 6xx lacks quantity in bass, but it does not lack quality. it has enough for genres like Jazz, not enough for other genres though. I am currently powering my 6xx through the Massdrop Liquid Carbon and it just such a beautiful pairing. There is zero fatigue. the liquid carbon adds a bit of umph on the bass too. these are great headphones for vocals. Male & female After almost 3 years of buying and selling headphones, these are still sitting on my desk, because I have not found a better value than these anywhere

A Top-Notch Experience From Beginning To End!
From the painless ordering process to making sure that the product arrived on time professionally packaged, along with an invoice to the actual product itself - the HD 6XX - Wow! I have been listening to music for over 40 years and have never heard my music like this before. Little nuances that were never heard before come out here. Not like hearing it for the first time, but like hearing a different mix of the same song. Very impressive Drop, please give yourselves a big hand for making these beautiful headphones even more available for all to enjoy!

What are "open back headphones"?
Open backs project sound both towards your ears and out the sides of the earpieces. This makes the sound feel as if they are coming from further away. Good for replicating the directions of where each vocals and instruments are coming from; like at a concert. Close backs sound as if the music is coming from the centre of your head; you get less "directional" experience but they feel more intimate. Open backs leak sound so if you are riding on public transport, the people sitting next to you might look at you sideways wonder why you are playing music for everyone around you. Most high end headphones are open back so don't worry about losing any sound quality from the leakage!
What is the best amp (or amp/dac) to pair with the HD6XX?
They go well with my Modi/Magni Schiit stack

Really Good for the price
One of the best pairs of headphones I've had. Obviously, if you spend more, you will get a better listening experience, but for the price, especially if you can get it on sale, they are one of the best headphones you can get.

Incredible, and better than others that are double the price
I've had these for around 3 years, recently got them the Fenestrated sheepskin earpads and they are now perfect. They sound perfec, with punch abd bass and super clear sound for all scenarios, I specially enjoy gaming with them, but they work well for everything I have thrown at them. The quality of these headphopnes became even clearer when I got the Dan Clark Audio Aeon Open X Headphones and realized the HD-6XX simply sound better in every way, louder, better bass, and can handle punchy music much better. The only "minus" point is that their suspension system is a plastic band over your head, which is the most boring system ever, but it is not terrible though, the sponge it has is supportive and the headphones are not too heavy, so you can easily wear them for long periods of time. Get these, you won't regrete it. PD: make sure to get a mic amp, any. I use an Objective 2 and goes perfectly with the HD-6XX.

Great value, great headphones for cheaper
Being based off legendary HD650 headphones, these headphones are as neutral as headphones on the market get. Slightly warm but has warm, enjoyable bass despite low end roll off, excellent midrange and non-fatiguing highs. The build is plastic but also it is high quality plastic that doesn’t break easily and lasts for decades. Clamp may be too tight, though.

So far wonderful
I have had this headset for about 2 months and I love them. Great audio, very comfortable and I truly appreciate the build quality. Aside from that they look fantastic. They pair well with my PC set up and I could not recommend a better headset for the price.

Some of the best audio for the price
This was my first "expensive" audio purchase several years ago now. I watched reviews from all over the place, word of mouth and trying them out in person. They're great, both for gaming and getting into audiophile like listening. They're easy to drive, sound good out of the box, and look good. They feel good on top of the head, but some times my ears would get sore, and after years of use the rotation of the cups squeaks a little bit. Overall great for the money.

Review of the HD 6XX after almost 4 years of use.
I’ve been using these headphones for almost 4 years now and for all this time I was never disappointed with my purchase. I use them in combination with the Grace SDAC and the O2 Amplifier from DROP. Before I had these headphones, I’ve always had close back ones since that was what I was used to growing up in a time where the computer stood in the living room where everyone was sitting watching TV. That time is long gone now though so after looking into it and being familiar with Sennheiser and their lineup I decided to get the HD 6XX ones. The first thing I would like to attest to is the fact that in general open back headphones provide a better experience both in sound and comfort in comparison with closed back ones. It doesn’t matter if it is for listening to music, playing games or watching movies. It’s hard to describe into words but the sound stage feels bigger and more natural compared to closed back ones, which increases the overall immersion in what you are listening to. When gaming, and this is mostly import for competitive FPS games, the accuracy in which I can pinpoint where a sound is coming from is night and day compared to my friends and teammates. For these reasons alone I will never go back to closed back ones, so if you don’t have to worry about bothering other people with what you are listening to or don’t need active noise cancelling than the HD 6XX headphones are a great option. Another positive compared to closed back headphones is that they are way more breathable, so if you wear them for extended periods you won’t get too sweaty in them. The earpads the headphones came with are still verry usable but after more than 3 year of pretty much daily use they have soaked up some oils from my hair and skin and washing them can only do so much, so I decided to swap them out and keep them as a backup. I swapped out the standard foam earpads with aftermarket sheepskin ones from Brainwavz and even though they are less breathable now it is still a huge difference with closed back headphones. I also don’t experience discomfort or pain when wearing the HD 6XX headphones for a long time when gaming or working from home. The one negative thing I have to say about the headphones is the number of plastic parts there are. Now the plastic doesn’t feel weak or cheap, I’ve dropped them a couple times on a tiled floor and have had other headphones with more metal parts break easier, but it still plastic. It stills makes that signature plastic squeaky sound sometimes when you pick them up or adjust them and it doesn’t have the same feeling of built quality even though they are built quite well. So overall great headphones, great sound for any application, comfortable to wear for a long time, lots of aftermarket options for earpads and the cable.
